Krista Lennartz (she/her)

Krista’s goal: To shift the question from “am I doing this right?” to “how can I adapt this for my unique experience?” Providing every practitioner and instructor with the agency to decide for themselves.

Krista is a native Portlander who started teaching movement in 1997 and has never stopped. Her current professional priority is to be a steadfast advocate for students and fellow teachers. In addition to napping on bolsters as a form of self-care, one of her core beliefs is that everyone is doing their best, and that is perfectly good enough.

In 2015, Krista received her master’s degree in Motor Learning and Physical Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, where she studied in the Biobehavioral Sciences department with a focus on Motor Learning and Control. What she learned there fundamentally changed the way she understood teaching, learning, and the wellness industry. That work became a cornerstone of The Practice Space’s educational philosophy and continues to shape its curriculum today.

Schedule a Specialist Private Session with Krista

Krista loves a challenge. Her particular strength as a practitioner is investigating complex movement patterns, especially when a student has been struggling with an issue that hasn’t responded to previous approaches. She works well with students who need extra time, curiosity, and individualized support to better understand what is happening in their movement.

With an eye for organization and refinement, Krista approaches private sessions as a collaborative investigation. Through movement, observation, experimentation, and open communication, she helps students recognize patterns that may be contributing to difficulty, discomfort, or limitations in daily life. Rather than searching for one “correct” solution, the goal is to better understand the whole system and develop useful options together.

Krista also has a passion for working with movement teachers who want to increase the clarity and efficacy of their teaching. If you are a teacher interested in mentorship, problem-solving, or refining your approach to a challenging student or movement question, email Krista directly to set up a time to meet.
