Community Sponsored Education

Support the practice of learning for yourself and others.

At The Practice Space, we believe education grows stronger when it is supported in community. Our Workshop Sponsorship Program allows students to help bring continuing education opportunities to life while also creating access for friends, family, or scholarship students to participate alongside them.

How does it work? Simply choose the sponsorship level you would like to support and we schedule the workshop — it’s that simple. Every sponsorship level includes up to 5 complimentary guest spots that can be used for friends, family, or donated as scholarship spaces for the community.

This is a new and innovative way to support continuing education because it shifts workshops beyond only what teachers want to offer and toward what students genuinely want to learn.

Workshop 1: Moving from the Inside Out

Explore the deeper supportive systems of the body and how they influence movement, stability, balance, and control. In this 2-hour educational and movement workshop, students will investigate the intrinsic muscular relationships that help organize the body from the inside out. Muscle we will explore include the transverse abdominis, pelvic floor, diaphragm, multifidus, and the rotator cuff systems of both the hips and shoulders.

Rather than studying anatomy as isolated parts, this workshop approaches the body as an interconnected and adaptive system. Through movement exploration, guided practice, and applied anatomy, students will develop a clearer understanding of how these smaller stabilizing structures contribute to larger movement patterns, coordination, breath, posture, and resilience.

Workshop 2: Pilates Standing Work for Postural Health and Sustainability

This highly sensational workshop is one for the books! When people think about posture as simply “standing up straighter,” but true posture is deeply connected to how the spine, nervous system, breath, and movement patterns work together. In this educational workshop, we will explore the spine and legs not just as a stack of bones, but as the protective pathway for the central nervous system and a dynamic center of communication throughout the body.

From the feet to the hips and the neck to the lower back, students will gain a deeper understanding of how tension, alignment, balance, and movement habits influence posture, comfort, flexibility, and overall ease in the body. This all movement workshop offers a new perspective on standing tall and daily movement while helping students build greater awareness and support from the inside out.

Workshop 3: Demystifying the Advanced Repertoire

This 2-hour mat workshop is designed to prepare both your body and mind for the advanced Pilates repertoire. From backbends to balancing on your shoulders, the advanced exercises are both highly effective and surprisingly joyful to explore. Don't worry if you don't yet have all the mobility, strength, or stability required. Advanced Pilates is not about forcing difficult shapes. It is about understanding the preparation, mechanics, and progression that make those movements possible.

Together, you'll break down exercises such as Jackknife, High Bridge, and the Shoulder Bridge transition while learning the foundational strength, mobility, and coordination that support them. Krista demystifies the advanced repertoire by teaching the principles behind each movement, giving you a clear and approachable path toward mastering these challenging and rewarding exercises.

Workshop 4: The CoreAlign

Understand the incredible work of the CoreAlign. With over a decade of experience, Krista brings insight into this biomechanically and neurologically awakening device.

Workshop 1: The Complete Practice

Māhā translates to “great.” Sādhanā is often translated as “practice,” specifically spiritual practices which lead the seeker to a fuller state of consciousness. The two hour Māhā Sādhanā hatha yoga practice provides more time for the student to experience the benefits and integration of prānāyāma (breath techniques), āsana (postures), and śavāsana (relaxation). When we squeeze our yoga sādhanā into our busy days, it can sometimes feel rushed and lacking depth. The Māhā Sādhanā practice gives the student the time needed to allow the body and mind to untangle themselves from distractions and preoccupations and settle into a steady stream of concentration. Both body and mind will be cleansed and rejuvenated rendering a greater sense of inner calm and clarity. Each class will pivot around a yogic philosophical theme.

Workshop 2: Yoga Foundations - The Practice, Philosophy and Tradition

Whether you're stepping onto a yoga mat for the first time or looking to better understand the practice beyond the postures, this two-hour workshop offers a welcoming introduction to yoga's rich tradition.

Explore the foundations of a modern yoga practice through gentle movement, pranayama (breath based practices), and accessible postures while also examining where yoga comes from and how its thousands of years of history have shaped the way it is practiced today. We'll discuss the philosophical roots of yoga, how the practice evolved over time, and what has changed as yoga has become part of contemporary Western culture.

Rather than asking you to adopt a particular belief system, this workshop is designed to provide context, clarity, and practical tools that allow you to approach yoga with greater confidence and understanding. You'll leave with a deeper appreciation for both the physical practice and the traditions that continue to influence it, along with a clear sense of how yoga can support your own health, resilience, and daily life.

Workshop 1: Slow breath, tender heart,

Learn how to down-regulate your nervous system and cultivate a sense of calm and connection. Through a harmonious blend of breathwork, vocal toning, and mindful movement, we will explore techniques to activate the parasympathetic nervous system, inviting relaxation and reducing stress.

In this nurturing space, you will learn how to use your breath as a tool for tranquility, discover the power of your voice in fostering inner peace, and engage in gentle movements that promote awareness and ease. Together, we will create a supportive environment where you can slow down, tend to your well-being, and reconnect with yourself.

No prior experience is necessary, just bring an open heart and a willingness to explore the art of slowing down. Comfortable clothes and water bottle recommended.

Workshop 1: Happy Backs

This workshop is designed to support students experiencing generalized low back pain through movement, education, and greater body awareness. Rather than focusing on a quick fix, we will explore tools and strategies that may help students move with more confidence, resilience, and comfort over time. Because every body is different, the workshop also emphasizes the “how” and “why” behind the movements we practice, helping students make more informed decisions about what supports their long-term wellbeing and practice.

Workshop 2: Pilates for Cyclists - Undo the Ride

If you commute by bike every day or spend long weekends in the saddle, cycling places unique and repetitive demands on the body. Hours of pedaling can create stiffness through the hips, chest, neck, shoulders, and lower back while gradually limiting mobility and contributing to the everyday aches and pains many cyclists simply learn to live with.

This 2-hour Pilates workshop is designed to help restore balance to your body after countless miles on the bike. Through thoughtful movement, we'll improve hip mobility, restore spinal articulation, strengthen the deep core and postural muscles, open the chest and shoulders, and address the muscular imbalances that often develop from repetitive riding.

Along the way, you'll gain a better understanding of how cycling shapes the body, why certain areas become tight or overworked, and how Pilates can improve both recovery and riding performance. You'll leave with practical exercises and strategies you can incorporate into your routine, whether you ride to work every day or spend your weekends exploring new roads and trails.
