CoreAlign Functional Posture

If you’re new to the CoreAlign equipment, here’s the gist… it teaches you from the outside in. The carriages and movement provide direct feedback to your brain, starting from your toes and traveling through your entire system. Our bodies are brilliant, this equipment wakes up that inner wisdom while offering a powerful opportunity to explore how the principles of Pilates and yoga apply to functional movement in our daily lives.

In this 1.5 hour workshop we will:

  1. Understand plumb line organization and the benefits of it

  2. Discuss briefly some common postural misalignments and the general goal of more successfully stacking the “bell of the rib cage” over the “bowl of the pelvis” within those misalignments

  3. Build somatic awareness (somatic = movements that focus on your internal experience and awareness) of your rib cage and pelvic bowl in different planes of movement, building to standing exercises

  4. Transfer this awareness to outside activities and static standing posture
