A reminder from Krista
“Rest assured that our teachers are equipped to support you at any level of practice. Trust your intuition and approach each class with inner confidence and agency. Whether you find yourself in a Level 3 class unexpectedly or choose a different level, embrace your unique journey without hesitation or apology. I firmly believe in empowering our students to honor their individual needs, whether that involves taking moments to rest, opting for modifications, or adjusting the intensity as needed. Remember, true progress comes from listening to the wisdom of your body and responding accordingly. You know you better than anyone else.”

We provide almost everything a student could possible need but it is best to come prepared. We recommend wearing clothes that allow a full range of movement, including twisting and bending. So think comfortable and stretchy but not too loose. Avoid clothing with buckles or belts that may press into you over time.
Please be sensitive and avoid wearing scented perfumes or lotions. Yoga and Pilates both rely heavily and breath work and strong scents can be very disruptive to other students and teachers respiratory practice.
Yoga and Pilates Mat - You can bring your own mat and a water bottle into the studio. We also have mats that are free to borrow.
Reformer - Reformer classes ase often practiced with toe sox (socks with grips on the bottom) for traction and safety. You can also take classes barefoot if you prefer.
CoreAlign - Studio shoes (shoes that are not worn outside in our pacific northwest rainy weather) are welcome on the CoreAlign equipment.
-
We suggest that you arrive around 10 minutes early so that we can give you a proper welcome, and so you can complete your student waiver & speak with the teacher about any special requests or expectations you may have.
If you are late, be aware that the doors may be locked for everyones safety.
Once you arrive, checking in is as easy as a couple of clicks on our self-check-in iPad. Please sign in EVERY TIME you take a class. This helps us keep our records straight and to make sure we’ve entered every name correctly into the system. You would be amazed at how many Nancys there are out there!
-
Our dedicated space for practice is something we all care for. Please help us keep our studio clean by taking your shoes off when you enter the space at the benches. Then carry to your cubby located in the back hallway near the bathrooms.
Minimizing distractions and improving our focus we ask that all cellphones are turned off. We do not allow students or staff to be on their cell phones in the practice spaces.
-
Be sure to let your instructor know if you have any injuries, limitations, or concerns so they can support your unique needs.
At The Practice Space, we encourage students to practice agency and active participation in their learning and progress. This happens through open and honest communication.

Trust Yourself
Teachers are here to provide a class full of suggestions and recommendations. But some of those suggestions may not feel right for you that day. Never hesitate to take a rest when you need a rest. At The Practice Space we prioritize student agency. You know your body better than anyone else and this is the best environment to put that knowledge into practice.
Best for beginners
For newcomers to yoga and Pilates, we highly recommend starting with Habit 1 for Pilates or Hatha 1 for yoga. These classes serve as ideal entry points, offering a solid foundation rooted in the traditions of both disciplines. Incorporating modern scientific principles for physical alignment, breath work, and neurological understanding, these sessions provide a supportive starting point for every student, ensuring a safe and effective introduction to your practice.
Where to start
Best for injury or stress
We highly recommend private sessions for everyone, but if you are injured or recovering, the expert support of one-on-one sessions becomes even more essential.
If private sessions are not financially feasible at this time, we also effectively support many injured students through our Reboot classes, available for both equipment and mat. These sessions focus on functional movement and provide a crucial starting point to aid in your recovery journey.
For those experiencing stress or seeking a gentler approach to support your nervous system, we suggest trying our Hatha Restorative, Restorative, or Yin classes. These slower-paced sessions offer ample time to ground yourself, connect with your breath, and find calm amidst life’s demands.
Best for athletic advancement
Are you seeking a physical challenge? Embracing the challenge can be both invigorating and uplifting, reminding us of our capability to conquer obstacles. If you're ready to push your physical limits, we recommend trying Vinyasa or Pilates flow classes, which offer dynamic sequences to challenge and strengthen your body. For a focus on building strength, consider exploring our Functional Flow and B-Squared classes.
If you're searching for the ultimate challenge to advance your equipment practice, try our Trade-off class. This high-energy, athletic session tests your speed and precision while providing a fun and dynamic environment to sweat it out and refine your alignment skills. It's the perfect opportunity to push your boundaries and experience the exhilaration of growth.
Let’s work together
Whether you are a beginner, recovering from an injury, or an experienced athlete, private sessions are the most effective way to customize and support your personal practice. We offer both Yoga and Pilates private sessions. If you’d like to learn more, please fill out this form, and one of our lead instructors will reach out to you.
