How to prepare for your first visit
-
Our studio offers over 100 classes per week with options for all levels. Our most affordable and accessible classes are our mat classes, which can accommodate up to 30 students and incorporate simple props. These classes are also included in our 30 Days for $30 intro offer.
Mat Classes Include:
Yoga Classes – Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin, and Sustainable Strength (designed to build a strong yoga practice).
Pilates Mat Classes – From rehabilitative-focused movement (Reboot and Mobilize) to advanced flow-based workouts (Trade-off and Pilates Flow).
Beyond mat classes, we offer small group equipment classes and private sessions for a more personalized experience. Learn more about our classes and offerings here. →
-
Although not required, we highly recommend it! Pre-registering ensures your spot in class and makes check-in seamless. Before your first visit, set up your Mindbody Online account to streamline registration and purchases.
-
Just yourself! If you’d like, bring a water bottle and your own yoga or Pilates mat, but we always have free mats available along with a variety of props, including blocks, straps, rings, and more.
For your convenience, we offer secure student storage with day-use lockers. You’re welcome to bring your own lock, or borrow one from us when you arrive.
-
Wear comfortable, stretchy clothing that allows for a full range of movement, including twisting and bending. Avoid anything too loose, as it may get in the way during practice.
For Pilates classes, toe socks (socks with grips on the bottom) are recommended for traction and safety, but you’re also welcome to go barefoot.
For CoreAlign classes, studio shoes (clean shoes that haven’t been worn outside, especially in our Pacific Northwest rainy weather) are welcome for use on the equipment.
Lockers are available for secure storage of personal belongings, so you can fully dedicate yourself to your practice without distractions.
-
When you arrive, check in at the front desk, where a friendly teacher or staff member will greet you and guide you to your class.
We kindly ask that you sign in at the desk every time you take a class. This helps us keep accurate records—and you’d be surprised how many Nancys we have in our system!
If there’s anything important you’d like your teacher to know—your preferred pronouns, any injuries or physical limitations, or what you're hoping to gain from class—please share! We’re here to support you.

Trust Yourself
Teachers are here to provide a class full of suggestions and recommendations. But some of those suggestions may not feel right for you that day. Never hesitate to take a rest when you need a rest. At The Practice Space we prioritize student agency. You know your body better than anyone else and this is the best environment to put that knowledge into practice.
A reminder from Krista
“Rest assured that our teachers are equipped to support you at any level of practice. Trust your intuition and approach each class with inner confidence and agency. Whether you find yourself in a Level 3 class unexpectedly or choose a different level, embrace your unique journey without hesitation or apology. I firmly believe in empowering our students to honor their individual needs, whether that involves taking moments to rest, opting for modifications, or adjusting the intensity as needed. Remember, true progress comes from listening to the wisdom of your body and responding accordingly. You know you better than anyone else.”
Let’s work together
Whether you are a beginner, recovering from an injury, or an experienced athlete, private sessions are the most effective way to customize and support your personal practice. They also provide a great starting point to acclimate to the practice and get comfortable with our studio before joining group classes. We offer both Yoga and Pilates private sessions, tailored to your needs and goals.
If you’d like to learn more, please fill out this form, and one of our lead instructors will reach out to you.
Class Levels & Recommendations
-
All-level classes welcome everyone, offering an inclusive space to explore movement with a deeply personal connection fostered by the teacher’s approach. These classes are designed to be adaptable, with modifications and progressions to meet the needs of every participant, from beginners to advanced practitioners. The focus is on connecting with your body, improving mobility, and experiencing mindful movement in a supportive and encouraging environment. Content is thoughtfully chosen to resonate with everyone, whether you’re a skilled dancer, a computer programmer, or somewhere in between, ensuring the material supports the unique needs of being human.
-
Foundational classes at Level 1 are not necessarily easy—they are the cornerstone of mindful movement practices. These classes focus on repetition and refinement, drawing from Yoga, Pilates, and CoreAlign traditions to cultivate a strong foundation. Rather than aiming for a specific workout goal, Level 1 classes at The Practice Space emphasize the process of executing the practice with intention and precision. You'll develop body awareness, proper alignment, core engagement, and breath control. Movements and poses are thoughtfully designed to help you gain confidence, improve mobility, and create sustainable movement patterns that support long-term growth.
-
Level 2 classes are for those with a solid foundation and a readiness to grow their practice. In all methods of mindful movement, small adjustments and progressions can transform simple actions into deeply challenging and rewarding experiences. These classes build on foundational skills by introducing more complex movement patterns, flows, and exercises that demand increased balance, coordination, and strength. With moderate resistance, dynamic transitions, and a focus on greater range of motion, you’ll not only refine your technique but also expand your physical and mental resilience, taking your practice to the next level.
-
The defining word for Level 3 is agency. At The Practice Space, the foundation built in earlier levels is designed to cultivate a deep familiarity with your body, empowering you to make informed decisions about your practice in every class. Level 3 challenges that sense of agency, encouraging you to trust your intuition as you navigate advanced movements, sequences, and rhythms in Yoga, Pilates, and CoreAlign. These classes push you to refine techniques while uncovering new layers of understanding and self-awareness. At this level, mastery isn’t about perfection but about embracing the feedback loop of learning—returning to the basics when needed, exploring foundational principles with curiosity, and growing through challenges. Evolve is about continuous learning, discovery, and embracing the ongoing journey of mindful movement.
Best for beginners
For newcomers to yoga and Pilates, we highly recommend starting with Habit 1 for Pilates or Hatha 1 for yoga. These classes serve as ideal entry points, offering a solid foundation rooted in the traditions of both disciplines. Incorporating modern scientific principles for physical alignment, breath work, and neurological understanding, these sessions provide a supportive starting point for every student, ensuring a safe and effective introduction to your practice.
Best for injury or stress
We highly recommend private sessions for everyone, but if you are injured or recovering, the expert support of one-on-one sessions becomes even more essential.
If private sessions are not financially feasible at this time, we also effectively support many injured students through our Reboot classes, available for both equipment and mat. These sessions focus on functional movement and provide a crucial starting point to aid in your recovery journey.
For those experiencing stress or seeking a gentler approach to support your nervous system, we suggest trying our Hatha Restorative, Restorative, or Yin classes. These slower-paced sessions offer ample time to ground yourself, connect with your breath, and find calm amidst life’s demands.
Best for athletic advancement
Are you seeking a physical challenge? Embracing the challenge can be both invigorating and uplifting, reminding us of our capability to conquer obstacles. If you're ready to push your physical limits, we recommend trying Vinyasa or Pilates flow classes, which offer dynamic sequences to challenge and strengthen your body. For a focus on building strength, consider exploring our Functional Flow and B-Squared classes.
If you're searching for the ultimate challenge to advance your equipment practice, try our Trade-off class. This high-energy, athletic session tests your speed and precision while providing a fun and dynamic environment to sweat it out and refine your alignment skills. It's the perfect opportunity to push your boundaries and experience the exhilaration of growth.

Navigating our class schedule:

As you become more acquainted with our studio, you may find yourself particularly drawn to the style and personality of one of our educators. We wholeheartedly encourage this connection, as a strong rapport with your educator is instrumental in fostering positive changes and progress in your practice. To facilitate this bond, you can filter your search by the teacher's name to see their schedule for the week. Additionally, you can explore our teachers' page for a deeper understanding of their training background and teaching philosophy.
You can also read more about each of our educators on their bio page.

This filter offers the utmost specificity, allowing you to select from each and every class option available. You can refine your search by choosing a class based on its specific name, type, and level. However, please note that this level of specificity limits you to selecting only one class at a time.
